Latin America
Are all the countries of the Western Hemisphere south of the United States, especially those speaking Spanish or Portuguese.
Hispanic:
Refers to all the people in Europe and America (both continents), that speak Spanish.

HISTORY
In 1942 Christopher Columbus departed from Palos de la Frontera, Spain, to find a shorter route to Asia and India. He departure and without knowing he will later reach to what he later called the "New World." (America).
Century's later European immigrants traveled to conquer and to establish in the new continent. British, Dutch, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Russians were the main immigrants in the 1700s. The Spanish dominated Central and South America, while the Dutch and French influence in the Caribbean and South America waned. Meanwhile, as the British prospered on the strength of trade with their eastern North American colonies, the Portuguese, declining as a great world power, simply maintained their holdings in Brazil.
