Sin is an offense against God. It destroys our union with Him and with the Church. Because of this, conversion entails forgiveness of God and reconciliation with the Church, which are expressed the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. All of us who are God's people can be forgiven or absolved from our sins through the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation as long as there is perfect contrition. Perfect contrition arises from a love by which God is loved among all else. God is a merciful God who forgives all sins. He is willing to accept us again and restore the union once had. Through this sacrament, our sins are forgiven, we are reconciled with the Church and we strengthened with the loving grace of God.
