Global warming is a problem that society will have to deal with because of increasing climate change during the past century. According to the World Meteorological Organization, an increase of 7 degrees Celsius has been measured in the last century. Calculating the emissions of greenhouse gases for the next century based on growing world population and growing technology, has shown an increase between 1 to 3.5 degrees Celsius by 2100.
"Greenhouse gases" cause global warming. These gases go up to the ozone layer and let sunlight into the earth, but block heat from coming out of the earth. This creates a "greenhouse effect" which traps heat inside the earth; Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, halocarbons and nitrous oxide. Carbon dioxide is definitely the human-caused gas. 40 percent of this gas stays in the atmosphere for centuries continuing the greenhouse process. Climate change will have many consequences if the problem is ignored and left to be during a long period of time...
