The morality of abortion is the most intensely debated ethical question
in
U.S. public life today. On one side are the pro-life forces who
beleive that,
from conception on, the unborn is a human being with a right to life;
abortion
is nothing less than killing an innocent person. In opposition are the
pro-choice forces. Their position denies that the embryo or fetus is a
human
being deserving legal protection, abortion is a private matter of the
woman.
Conservative theory of abortion emphasizes conserving life.
Conservatives view that abortion is never acceptable or, at most, is
permissible only if necessary to save the pregnant woman?s life. The
other
extreme opposite theory of abortion is liberal theory...
