The crocodile is a very large and powerful reptile. It is also very dangerous but only if it feels as if it's in danger. It could tear a person to shreds if provoked.
Crocodiles, along with their relatives the alligators, caiman, and gavials, are ancient animals. They belong to the same group of creatures as the dinosaur. They spend most of their time basking in the sun but can move very fast when needed (McCarthy, p.64).
Crocodiles are cold-blooded.
Which means they cannot adjust their body temperature by producing heat, as we can. They have to rely on their surroundings to keep their bodies warm enough to work properly...
