"Immortal Beloved" is a romantic mystery of the life story of the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven. The movie begins with his death in Vienna in 1827. Beethoven's brother (Nikolaus Van Beethoven) is demanding his inheritance when his secretary/friend (Anton Schindler) finds a letter which leaves everything to this mysterious woman only known as his "immortal beloved". Anton against Nikolaus will, goes out in search of this mysterious woman. The story is told through interviews and flashbacks from the women who meant anything in Ludwig's life.
His first stop is to the address on the letter, which was a hotel. There he spoke to the front desk attendant, she remembered Ludwig's visit and the letter. Here we uncover that this letter was meant for a young lady who was to meet with Ludwig that night, she signed the register however, her signature was not legible. Ludwig was delayed because of bad weather and sent this letter to be delivered to this mysterious woman asking her to wait. The letter was never opened by the mysterious woman and she left before his arrival...
