Fitting The Description
"The New Face of Racial Profiling," by Sherry F. Colb, and "Profiling Terrorists," by Roger Clegg are articles written by two authors that share different standpoints on racial profiling, and its e. effects to society. Colb's argument strongly sides on the rights of those being profiled and how no good to society can come of this. She states that this can just lead to a "denial of equality on the basis or race." Coming from another standpoint is Clegg's article, which holds fast to the belief that racial profiling at this time and age is essential in the war against terrorism. Both articles provide equal information and examples from both views of the issue and show how to take different approaches on the profiling of criminals and terrorists allowing their readers to find on their own terms what really fits the description of racial profiling.
The major issue of disagreement between these two articles is whether racial profiling should be allowed in the United States; a country where by the 14th amendment, every person is guaranteed equal protection under the law. Colb's claim is very valid residing on the fact that if the United States is the "land of the free," then by what basis can we restrict liberties from any group of individuals. Her reasoning revolves on valid examples of racial profiling that hurt or have hurt society...
