The thing that I am wondering is about the death instinct. What it sounds like is that you are wanting to kill yourself every second of the day, I was just wondering how this is possible. By me walking into traffic when the light is yellow, there is something in my head telling me to do that because I want to die. And what is the reason that someone would want to die or be killed when you yourself know that you only have a limited amount of time on this earth, or if you are happy with your life and are happy about what you are making of your limited time. I may not understand the concept of the death instinct enough to argue that we have one or that we don't have one. It is hard to understand, you know if you take a knife and cut your veins with it that most likely you are going to bleed to death, and you wouldn't need any instinct to tell you that. Most people that kill themselves have had horrible lives and have seen horrible things that make them not want to live, it is there choice to do that not something that is in there head telling them to do it The children that where left with out parents or had parents but they abandoned them? How would they react with this instinct? If they where in a situation where there was a hole in the floor with spikes in it would they walk into the hole just because something In there head told them to do it or would they walk into the hole just because they don't have the intelligence, or that they where never taught right from wrong or harm from safety. Like I said before I may not understand the theory enough to argue my point, and I may have made a fool of myself...
