Last spring, the most savage tornadoes in U.S. history blew away trees, cars, and houses. On SUNDAY, May 4, 2003, two Iowa teens crawled into a bathtub and grabbed on for dear life as a tornado flings their house 8 meters (25 feet) into three sturdy maple trees. The air was hot, sticky, and still. Dark thunderclouds were everywhere. Two teens knew something was about to happen, but they did not know what to expect. They thought a tornado or a really bad storm was coming, but they were not sure. Then something happened. A spinning funnel of wind dropped from the sky...
