The Development of new reproductive technologies has been motivated by Infertility problems faced by many couples having difficulty bearing their own children. For the people who are faced with these complications there is a range of new reproductive technologies, which can give them an opportunity to overcome infertility. Reproductive technologies can give people faced with infertility, the hope of having a family that may have otherwise never been possible. These technologies can also present issues of health, funding and access and can also involve legal complications.
Throughout this essay I will provide an overview of the key issues raised by the development of new reproductive technologies. I will specifically focus on the issues raised from surrogacy and IVF.
I will also outline whose interests are best served by these new treatments. As well, I will discuss the implications reproductive technologies have on women.
