The Problems With Modern Basketball
Sports are one of American's favorite pastimes. Basketball is one of the most popular
sports today and brings in millions of dollars per year. However, there are many problems with
basketball today, and most of them can be classified into 3 main categories: 1)Players
attitudes, both towards the game and the fans 2)Money 3)Treatment of players, they
are viewed as better then normal people by the law.
Players today are bigger, faster, and stronger then ever before, but does this give them the
right to act however they wish toward fans, the very people who pay their huge salaries? No,
says Jeff Robertson at www.Hoopsworld.com. He is a sports writer for that particular website
and has seen many instances of players both professional and college acting irrationally and
irresponsibly. One recent incident involving Bonzi Wells of the Portland Trail Blazers occurred
when a fan said something to Wells and Wells proceeded to flip off the fan. Now even though
the fan wasn't right to taunt Wells, Wells is a professional basketball player and has no right to
treat the fans who pay to come see him and his team play with such disrespect...
