One of the most intense manhunts in the history of the U.S. armed forces is finally over. Saddam Hussein, Iraq's deposed dictator was captured in a Saturday-evening raid on a farm outside his hometown of Tikrit.
"We got him," said the U.S. administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, at a news conference. "The tyrant is a prisoner."
About 600 troops and Special Forces were involved in the raid, which took place because of a tip from one of Hussein's trusted family members. At approximately 8:30 pm Baghdad time Hussein was found hiding in a hole in the ground, that had been covered with an odd looking rug and a layer of bricks, near a small two-room hut where he had apparently been staying...
