Bibliography of Icarus
Icarus, son of Daedalus and Daphne, died foolishly at a young age. Before his awful death, Icarus had led a life filled with ups and downs that his parents unfortunately shared with him. Icarus' father, Daedalus (who's name means "cunning craftsman") was a skillful architect, sculptor, and inventor. Right before the death of his wife, Daphne who was also Icarus' mother, Daedalus was exiled to Crete along with his family. Daedalus was ashamed of his exile and hated the treatment they were given at Crete. He and his family were viewed as prisoners at Crete, an island that was ruled by King Minos at the time.
Icarus' mother, Daphne, was a loving and understanding woman, who was dearly loved by her husband and son. Although the sentence of exile was a shock and a shame to her, she stood by her husband and supported her family in anyway possible. Her death, at the age of 35, was a lasting disappointment to her family. They grieved their lose for many days and never forgave themselves for consciously putting all of the stress on her fragile heart...
