I attended the production of STOMP with my mom, sisters, and their friends at the Benedum Theater in downtown Pittsburgh. This production has been known as one of the best gigs in show business for quite some years now. It is directed by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. This show was interesting and amazing in many different ways. To give you an idea of what the show is, I will describe it for you. The show is set in a junky alley way of some urban area that is cluttered with cans, tools, car parts, and other random pieces of "junk." The people in the STOMP use this garbage and junk to form incredible beats which all join together to form awesome and moving music. Some examples of tools they simply banged upon to make their own music were garbage cans, brooms, roads signs, match boxes, pails, and all sorts of random things. The opening scene started with one man coming out on stage and using a broom to sweep the stage floor. At first I thought he was just part of the stage crew and was making a few last minute final touches to the stage...
