Beowulf vs. 13th Warrior
Both 13th Warrior and the epic Beowulf tell the story of a larger than life hero. The question is however, which of the two tell the better hero story? Which one is the better depiction of the classic good versus evil theme? This is a very subjective matter. Although both the poem and movie have unique characteristics, one of them, in my opinion, is the overall better telling of the story. Upon coming to my conclusion, I took into consideration which source had more qualities of an epic. I also weighed which of the two conveyed certain characteristics of a hero. Some of the characteristics are strength, courage, and selflessness. In the end, I chose Beowulf as being the better telling of the heroic story...
