ACTIVE EUTHANASIA
Personally I feel active euthanasia is ethically permissible if and only if four rules are followed. These guidelines consist of patients having a terminal condition, a condition with merciless suffering needs to be present, the patient must also look at alternatives to active euthanasia, and finally there must be a written agreement between the doctor and the patient. If the patient isn't physically capable of writing there must be witnesses present to verify that there was no influence by the doctor upon the patient of the actions to follow. Such a situation had occurred back in 1998, when Dr. Jack Kevorkian performed active euthanasia on Tom Youk. Many oppose Dr. Kevorkian's practice and feel that his performance isn't morally acceptable. However he had complied with every single guideline I have provided without flaw.
