Economic Freedom
"Self-reliance is the only road to true freedom, and being one's own person is its ultimate reward."-Patricia Sampson. Although the context of this quote was not to be about economics, its true meaning still holds true. Economic freedom in essence is the capability to be one's own person and make their own decisions.
Economic freedom can be defined as the characteristic of a capitalism often taken for granted. The fact that the citizens of a capitalistic society are able to wake up in the morning in a home that is theirs, on their property and then have a choice of what they will be doing for a living and who they will work for is often overlooked. Not only do they get to choose where or who they will work for, but when they are available for work and what style of work place environment they want to be placed in. They have the right to leave a job in search for something that will be better for them at any point. In non free enterprise economies, occupations are often handed out, and individuality is kept to a minimum. Economic freedom is also found in the simple transactions of everyday life...
