The Salem Witchcraft Trials
The Salem Witchcraft Trials provided a confusing time for the people that were immediately involved. Most of the hysteria was contained in Massachusetts but many people were effected. The people that were accused of witchcraft were affected physically and mentally throughout their tough trials. The fact that they were accused would literally drive them crazy and if they were proven guilty of witchcraft them the physical torture and death would be endured. The people that were accused were almost in a group of their own since they were helpless considering that many people wouldn't help defend them. Weather or not the accused had a defense, there was sometimes nothing that could be done. All of the hysteria caused accusations and death for no reason.
As soon as someone was accused of witchcraft they were alienated by their family and peers. There was the occasional person such as Nurse, who would be privileged enough to have people that would her help and stand up for her innocence. Her friends and loved ones stood by her through her tough time but in the end there was nothing they could do...
