Blood Donation
General Purpose: To Persuade
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the importance of becoming a blood donor. I would like to persuade at least half of the class to donate.
Central Idea: I would like everyone to know that every three seconds in America a blood transfusion is needed. Giving blood takes less then one hour yet has the ability to save three lives.
Introduction
I. Many of you sitting here tonight may not think you could save a life but, in fact you can quite easily. I am asking that you donate blood it is fast and relatively painless.
II. I would like to explain the criteria that makes a person eligible, the procedure for donating along with who might benefit from the blood donation.
