If there is one thing that the Latin American country of Bolivia is rich in it is culture. Bolivia may be one of the poorest economic countries of Latin America but the people there continue on their traditions and beliefs despite their historical struggle for economic power. More than fifty percent of the Bolivian people maintain a traditional lifestyle or beliefs. Roman Catholicism is the predominant religion and the official language is Spanish although only sixty percent of the population speak the language. Most of the people tend to speak the more traditional languages of Quechua and Amara people. Bolivian foods consist of mostly meats, corn pancakes, rice, eggs, and vegetables. Bolivia has been struggling to achieve its economic success for the past few decades with progress only recently happening within the past few years. The main factors which contribute to Bolivia being one of the poorest countries of Latin America are its physical isolation from the world and surrounding countries, and its history of political mishaps including change in governments and change in economic policies.
