In American culture, nothing is more talked about and, at the same time more misunderstood, than LOVE. We speak of people falling in love, and then falling out of love. Many a marriage ends because the couple is said to be no longer in love. Love in our society is a mystery, it comes and it goes. It seems to have an awful lot to do with chemistry and hormones and feelings or emotions.
Love, on the other hand according to the Bible, bears no resemblance to what I have just described. Especially a certain kind of love that is described by the Greek word "agape."
Agape is love according to God. In fact, the Bible says that God is agape. Agape is a sacrificial and unselfish kind of love that is not based on fluctuating emotions or hormones...
