Something in this article that interested me was how the Beatles were turned down repeatedly by other record companies and it was almost luck that Brian Epstein went to cut the discs that he wanted right below publisher Syd Colemans office. From there he was sent to George Martins office. George Martin was the head of Parlophone records at the time. It is crazy to think that Martin was less than impressed by the few songs that he heard. Thank God that he liked the sound enough to allow the Beatles to audition live for him.
This was a huge turning point for the Beatles from a group perspective. George Martin was not impressed by Pete Best's drumming and made this fact known to Epstein.
This was when the real Beatles came into full circle as a group with the removal of Pete Best and addition of Ringo Starr. It's crazy to think that if Martin had turned down the Beatles they very well could have broken up and never have been seen again.
When Martin went to see the band at the Cavern Club I think that he probably became more and more comfortable with his decision to sign them seeing how the young kids reacted to the Beatles...
