Battles that led to the independence of Latin America
"Thank God, never again shall I have to command" (Reyes), what said by Simon Bolivar after he totally defeated the Spaniards. Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas, Venezuela on July 24, 1783. Bolivar lived a hard life, his parents died when he was very young, years later he got married, and few months of getting married, his wife also died. After the people he loved died, he decided to go to a tour around Europe. In France he met Alexander von Humboldt, who told Bolivar that Latin America was ready for independence from the Spaniards. At this time, Bolivar decided to set Latin Americans free form Spanish Rule. Bolivar spent most of his time fighting for the independence of Latin America. His desire was to unite Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela. Finally after getting these countries independent from Spaniards, he united them under the name of "La Gran Colombia".
