In Toni Morrison's Sula Eva was not a main character, but she played a major role. Eva is portrayed as being evil in the book, but actually she was very strong. She protected her kids and ran the whole house by herself. She would do crazy things for her kids that other parents never would. Eva had a very good strong personality.
Eva is an amputee. There are many different theories about how she lost her leg. Many say she may have cut it off in order to receive insurance money so she could feed her children. Other tales told claim that Eva had sold her leg for $10,000.00 or that she had stuck it under a train...
