According to the ninth edition of Management: A Competency-Based Approach, ethics are defined as a set of values and rules that define right and wrong conduct. Those values and rules indicated when behavior is acceptable and when it is unacceptable. What is considered ethical may depend on the perspective from which ethical issues are considered. There are four forces that shape ethical conduct. Theses forces are societal norms and culture, laws and regulations, organization practices and culture, and individual perspectives.
The large part of what is ethical comes from the society. According to our society CD burning was an ethical practice, until recent years, it seems like it is pro-ethical depending on how one makes use of burning CD's.
