Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or better known as HIV and AIDS are two diseases that go hand in hand. First you get HIV and then over any matter of time it turns into AIDS. There are few ways to pick it up but no way to drop either one of the diseases and once in your system it can cause death as soon as a year after or even as late as 10+ years later. Throughout this report I'm going to go through exactly what HIV and AIDS are, how you get it, and what happens when you get HIV/AIDS. In addition, I'm going to discuss how it develops, how it progresses, and some of the symptoms along with any other little things that fit in with the subject.
First I will start off by explaining HIV. The Human Immunodeficiency Virus is the first step that eventually causes AIDS. The only known ways to be infected with HIV are through blood; blood transmissions and the sharing of needles, and sexual contact; oral, vaginal, and anal sex. Also, pregnant mothers with this virus can pass it on to the offspring during pregnancy, while giving birth or through breast feeding. In rare cases, there is a chance that it can be transmitted to health care workers, or others for that matter, by any splashing of blood base liquids entering through the mouth, eyes or nose and open flesh wounds...
