Terrorism in the Philippines
Enemies of the State. These are individuals or group of individuals who have commenced acts of hostility constituting crimes against national security and laws of nations and public order. These are also individuals or group of individuals who commit acts of terrorism against innocent civilians regardless of motivation. Clearly terrorists fall under this category, as enemies of the state.
Terrorism has long been and still present and active in the Philippines. Most of the rebels or terrorists are Muslims or they are just operating in Mindanao. Most terrorists in the country are Muslims in Mindanao because Mindanao, its people being predominantly Muslims, most of them wish they would govern their own place in accordance to their beliefs and what their religion dictates. But because the government wouldn't and doesn't agree to that, they assumed rebellion so as to be heard.
During the early 1970's was the first appearance of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) who was fighting for an independent Moro (Moro means followers of Islam) nation and was headed by Nur Misuari.
This group caused terror in the region so as to be heard that they'd really want independence as a Moro nation...
