"The Minister's Black Veil," is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1836. The story is about a puritan minister, Mr. Hooper, who once was a prominent member in his society, has now become an outcast. This happens all because Mr. Hooper starts wearing a mysterious black veil. The congregation and friends of Mr. Hooper are shocked by this veil. They are not quite sure of his reason for wearing the veil. He could be setting an example for the whole congregation by implying that everyone wears a mask. He may be hiding a personal sin deep within himself...
