Before taking up Sociology, I had rolled over the question several times in my head as to what sociology really is. The question is still there, but now it is asked with a raised eyebrow. I now know or at least have an idea of what it is. Why I still have the question lodged somewhere at the back of my head is because, though I can define Sociology, I am yet to understand its complexity. Sociology is magical!
Sociology is more than just understanding the world. Rather it is how the world wants to be understood, through culture and people's many behavioural adaptations. Culture, being the set customs that a society adheres to and which are passed on through learning. It is this culture that people identify with.
I first thought it was just about society in general...
