Sir Thomas Wyatt was regarded as one of the first writers in the English Renaissance. He was one of the first English poets to translate Petrarch's sonnets into English (Burrow). Wyatt had an interesting life, wrote many works, and was greatly influenced.
Sir Thomas Wyatt was the son of Anne and Henry Wyatt. He was born in 1503, in Allington Castle, Kent, England. Around 1520, he married Elizabeth Brooke, daughter of Lord Cobham (Jokinen). They had a son named Thomas in 1521 (Castelli). Elizabeth and Sir Thomas separated in 1525 (Jokinen). Wyatt went to St. John's College, in Cambridge, for educational purposes...
