Every year hundreds of people are on death row waiting for their turn to be put to death. Many of those people on death row are innocents, so innocents are being killed for a crime that they didn't commit. More death sentences exposed to the community will start to incite murder. Capital punishment should be banned in all 50 states in the United States because innocent people are being killed, it degrades society, and Capital Punishment incites murder.
Numbers of innocent people are killed each year due to false accusations. Cases that include homicide or a degree of murder are not looked into thoroughly so many people are falsely accused for a murder that they didn't commit. (Black 35) "In 1976 only 398 people have been executed but today more than 3,000 people await their death sentence. And nearly one-fourth of those people are innocent." (Death Penalty)
