I feel effective communication is the key barrier to overcoming conflict that occurs in team performance. Team members should be able to speak freely with other group members and there should be a certain level of trust so that members will feel comfortable expressing themselves. Having good leadership is also a good way to avoid any conflict that could arise- If a team is being lead by a person that possess the qualities of being an effective leader, that person will touch every possible base for avoiding conflict within the team. Effective leaders tell their teams what to expect when working with various personalities, their differences in terms of power, values, attitudes, and what to avoid to not have these conflicts take control of the groups performance.
