I am shocked and disgusted by the fact that polygamy still exists and is practised under in-human conditions. For those who don’t know what polygamy is, it is when 1 man has 2 or more wives. It is not so much the fact that a man has more than one wife that disgusts me, but rather the rape of minor girls, child- and woman abusion and not respecting a womans free will, which are aspects of polygamy that occur is western sects in which polygamy is a way of life. Many people have forgotten all about polygamy and most don’t even know that it still exists, or in what form and on which scale it still exists. ...
In the USA there are various small towns where polygamy is still practised. ... This church advocates polygamy, and according to its theory a man needs a minimum of 3 wives to secure a place in paradise. In a few towns people claim to be direct descendants of Jesus Christ, and say that they practise polygamy to keep the bloodline pure. ... The women have never heard of any other religion then they were brought up with, that of polygamy, so they aren’t able to make their own choice of religion or way of living.
