Introduction
Sathers Inc. started in the 1930's as John Sather sold cookies in bulk to local grocery stores. The company has now grown to into an international company, which relies heavily on its candy products, and earned an estimated $135 million in sales in 1993. Sathers big boom came when they captured the entire Kmart market in 1972. The company has grown to include six product categories: general candy, seasonal candy, nuts and natural snacks, cookies, international, and private label candy. Fifty percent of their revenues come from their "Two for $1.00" value line. Sathers Inc. has most of their success in their candy lines.
