If I was a bar tender serving alcohol to my customers (patrons), should I be responsible for the behavior or actions that my customer have after consuming what I just sold to them? Should I have to baby sit that customer when he or she is buying drinks from my bar, watching to see if they have reached there limit? Should I have to call a cab for the people that are leaving the bar? ...
I really don’t think that a bartender should be in any way responsible for what the patrons do. ... Granted when you start to drink you may not think straight enough to know when to stop, but you have to know somewhat because that bartender in my mind should not have to baby sit you. ... He really should not be held responsible for the actions of the customers after all the liquor that he is selling is not his the place that he is selling it out of is not his. ... He buys that license to do something like this and it is in his name not the bartenders. This means that if any thing happens to the customer who is drinking the owner should take responsibility for what happens. ... Granted the bartender should try and stop things from happening. If he is not going to try to he or she should be held responsible morally for what happens to the patron’ s when they leave not legally because I believe that the owner should take the blame for that part.
