Differences Between Male and Female Sport Teams
There are clear differences when observing male and female sport. Whether it be an individual sport or a team sport there are distinct differences that separate the level of each. After observing a male ice hockey game and a female ice hockey game it was clear that the same principle of the game was evident in both, but the main aspect that differentiated the two was the physical component of the game.
The general rules of the game overall did not change between the two. The area that was different was the physical contact. In the male game there was clearly an abundance of physical contact, while there was none to be seen in the female game (without a penalty of course). The men only received penalties when they had done something intentionally to hurt the other player or to give themselves an advantage to score a goal. The females received penalties when there was any form of body contact made with another player from the other team.
Another difference that was visible between the two teams was the team camaraderie. The male team seemed to be a lot harder on players that made mistakes than the female team...
