2000 Presidential Election

The 2000 presidential race, between George W. Bush and Al Gore, was the closest in United States History. Florida was all that separated the winner from the loser. Early into the night of November 7, 2000 Gore had been declared the winner of Florida's 25 electoral votes. However, later that night it was then reported, as more votes had been counted, Bush was the winner of Florida. Into the early morning, the outcome of Florida was yet again changed, it was now labeled as "too close to call."
The Republican candidate, George W. Bush, was serving his second term as the governor of Texas. As president, his first priority is the education of American's youth. He has worked with the legislatures to increase state funding for schools, to give parents a greater choice of schools for their children to attend, and to give everybody equal opportunity to receive a quality education...
