"The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams is a story that shows the miseries of life. Life is typically not a walk in the park for anyone. This is definitely true for Laura Wingfield. Her life is total chaos. Her mother is always trying to turn her into a person she is not; her brother has never been truly happy, and her father leaves for no apparent reason. It seems as if things could not get any worse for this young woman, but not surprisingly it does. Jim, her gentleman caller, helps her continue her dissent into an unreal world. Although Jim does not help in this situation, I believe that he is genuinely a good guy with a good heart.
