In Chapter five we learn about the Indios barbaros, salvajes, gentiles or naciones errantes. Why would people call indios that way well you will find out that they had there reasons. These indios lead the way and expanded and conquered as many lands they could but strangely not to inhabitant but to be known and be feared. These indios barbaros were called this by the Christians. They were called these names due to rejecting Christianity but for there way of acting and live style.
In 1846 Indians were more successful in protecting there land, better armed, and better mounted. Comanches were Shoshone speaking indians. The Comanches were known as the most Numerous, had the most destructive Indian Adversaries and best armed. The Comanches raided in Texas, Nuevo Leon, New Mexico, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Durango and Chihuahua.
The Apaches were called by the Mexican Coyoteros also named Gilenos...
