Death Penalty started soon after civilization, from pulling your body apart by horse to the electric chair, and this issue still has been a great controversy in this country for many centuries. To some people the death penalty is the best way to bring down our crime rate and make our world into a better place and to others it is a cruel, time wasting way to end someone's life.
Death penalty has been a huge issue for a long time, and there are many good points on both sides. For the people that is for it they say the capital punishment reduces our crimes everywhere and it is making this world a safer place to be. Also people say that the crime they convict should be punished by a fair and justice way, "an eye for eye". For the people that is against this issue the biggest argument is the death penalty is the most unusually cruel, inhuman punishment and violates the right to life. Against death penalty doesn't mean we are not going to punish the criminals, but the death penalty has never been shown to deter crime more effectively than other punishments. Also every year there are many innocent people that is killed for crimes they didn't do but got blamed for. Capital punishment is not always fair, more black people get it than white people, more poor than rich and more men than women.
Death penalty is not directly mentioned in the bill of right, but under the 8th amendment it does mention unusually cruelty should not be performed...
