Throughout history, humans have benefited from the advancement of technology and the inventions that have come along with it. Technological devices and procedures that have been developed by humankind have made our lives safer, more convenient, and faster. However, in contrast, some advancements have made people wary of the negative effects that technology can have, and what damage it could do in the future. As with many things in life, technology has its good aspects and its bad aspects. Technology is responsible for the medical breakthroughs that save lives, and for making communication so much easier throughout the planet, but future advancement may prove to be harmful to our world in extreme ways.
Medical technology has played an important role in improving the quality of human life. Advancements such as psychiatric drugs, organ transplants, and disease research have all contributed to the betterment and prolonging of human life. Another innovation that has proved beneficial to people is the use of stem cell research. Stem cell research provides scientists with the ability to facilitate organ transplants and improve the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and certain types of cancer.
