Macbeth Essay
In act three scene four Macbeth holds a banquet for the Scottish Noble's and Lord's to show how good a king he is, taking over Duncan's place. Instead Macbeth does show his true colours when he breaks down and reveals all the secrets, which gives the scene several key turning points.
There is a strong contrast between appearance and reality. And in this scene Shakespeare also shows that when you are a public figure there is no private life for you, so there is a contrast between public and private. Macbeth ordered three rogues to kill him and his son. The reason for this is that three witches told Macbeth that he would be King however Banquo's sons are the heir's to the thrown. However at this moment in time Banquo suspects something of Macbeth.
"Thou hast it now, King. Cawdor, Glanis, all,
As the weird women promised, and I
Fear Thou played most foullyfor't."
