The Dilemma of Student Loans
It is more expensive to attend college today than it was thirty years ago. Many colleges are raising tuition two to three times the rate of inflation. How can students afford to stay in school when the rate of inflation is not matched with new tuition hikes? These fee increases are forcing some students to take out student loans if they want to go to college. To make matters even worse, it is hard to find a good job to pay off their debt after college. Finally, this will leave some college graduates in severe financial debt for the rest of their lives.
In Mike Lane's cartoon he illustrates that tuition is too expensive for college students. The main idea of his cartoon is that getting a college degree is expensive. In order to pay for college students are forced to take out student loans. The cartoon also suggests that student administrators are unconcerned with tuition hikes...
