Physical vs Logical
Many networks are in existience today. There are many different methods to employ and use the various configurations. So what is the difference between a physical and logical network. The only difference is that physical refers to the actual cabling used to wire the network and logical refers to how it is setup using software. Logical networks are also referred to as VLAN's. To understand we need to understand the topologies that are associated with each type of network.
There are four major network designs: bus, ring, star, and mesh. Bus networks are just that. All devices are connected to each other using a backbone or one cable that connects them. Each device taps off the backbone to receive network services...
