The Sambia from New Guinea live in an isolated highly forested area on the edge of the Highlands. They live in patrilineal organized small villages and clusters of villages, with headmen but no strong political leaders. Politically and in social structure, they are simple farmers, shifting horticulturalists that move around from time to time, to avoid their enemies and to keep their jungle gardens from getting exhausted.
Although Sexuality is part of human nature, all societies have rules channeling proper sexual conduct.
Among the Sambia Tribe from New Guinea the sexuality play a very special role in the life of each individual: Male or Female. Every single step in their life has to do with the sexual differentiation and sexual power. According to the Sambian it is believed that biological femaleness is natural, but maleness is not.
