"In Animal Farm, George Orwell wanted to do more than just entertain."
Write an essay in which you refer to this statement, discussing, what is entertaining in the novel and what he wishes to make about human society.
"Animal Farm" written by George Orwell is a very entertaining and humorous story. However in "Animal Farm", George Orwell wanted to more than just entertain. George Orwell wrote "Animal Farm" to serve the purpose of criticising the communist Government of Russia and because of this, the story is greatly respected.
Orwell entertains his readers' and at the same time criticises the Russian Communist Party in "Animal Farm" by substituting them with animals working on a farm driven by a farmer.
The main purpose of satire is to attack, and intensely criticize the target subject. This is superbly carried out in the classic piece of satire, Animal Farm. The main targets at the brunt of this political satire are the society that was created in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, and the leaders involved in it. George Orwell successfully condemns these targets through satirical techniques such as irony, fable, and allegory...
