Athletic Therapist
An athletic therapist is there to help athletes heal from an injury. Athletes need to deal with their injuries properly and effectively so they can jump back into the sports they love.
An athletic therapist's job is to teach athletes about injury prevention. Such things to do this are warm up activities, stretching, and relaxing. An athletic therapist also teaches athletes how to properly use exercise equipment and such to avoid long term and unnecessary injuries.
When an athlete becomes injured, the athletic therapists job is to then assess the injury, seeing how it can be treated and the severity of the injury. With that, the therapist can refer the patient to a doctor if necessary.
After the assessment, the athletic therapist will begin the treatment needed. Some injuries call for tensor bandages or crutches, while other more severe injuries may require surgery. Also in this process, the athletic therapist will help out with stretches to repair the torn tissues and muscles or to keep the athlete moving to prevent further damage...
