I believe that one resource our country is severely lacking is effective leadership. Americans see it everyday. Everything from dishonesty to cowardice and corruption to immorality, and it does not seem to be getting any better. We live in a time where we set very low expectations for our leaders, because this makes it harder to get disappointed. No one today seems to remember the visionaries of the past one hundred years. People like Teddy Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, John and Bobby Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. These men genuinely cared for their country, their causes, and the people who followed them. We seem to accept our leaders moral and ethical shortcomings, ineffectiveness, and overall mediocrity and write it off as normal.
