DO ample research: You MUST do your homework. Take a look back on your company's history and look into future planning so you can anticipate many questions the Japanese will have in store for you. This shows you are well prepared and organized for the meeting.
DO have your business cards and other important documents translated in Japanese: Doing this will help you look like you're really willing to do business with the Japanese by accommodating to their needs. Also have in hand your English translations of the writing for your benefit. This is also useful for Japanese businessmen who aren't fluent in English so they don't feel left out.
DO agree on agenda: Plan out the entire day for a meeting. Set where you will have the business-setting meeting followed by a post-meeting somewhere informal outside the office. This should include social drinking and entertaining provided by you and your associates.
