Movie Analysis Green Mile Summary: Death Row guards at a penitentiary, in the 1930’s, have a moral dilemma with their job when they discover one of their prisoners, a convicted murderer, has a special gift. First things first; Is it right to take some one’s life? One could say no, no matter what the circumstances are. Or one could say no with exceptions. The exception would be if they have committed a horrible crime capital punishment is ok. I personally do not believe that capital punishment is morally right. If someone is a danger to society then we should put him/her away for life. Not by any means do I feel we as humans have the right to decide whether someone should live or die. If we were to practice capital punishment how humane should it be? In the movie Percy lets an execution go ahead without the proper preparations, which leads to a long and painful death for the criminal. One could say since the criminal had done something so wrong to deserve death, why should we care whether it hurts or not? Or one might say no matter how bad of a thing a man has done by dying he will be paying his debt to society.
